My Birthday

My birthday is the 17th anniversary of the most memorable for me, because my friends gave a surprise by way of pranking. a week before I had a birthday they ignored me, scolded me, against me, and others.

and on my birthday they were pranking me, they work together with my teacher for pranking. My teachers call the man who I like to come to my class, my teacher told me that he and I were dating, but we are not dating. My teacher also threatened to tell my parents that I had a boyfriend. they pranking me until I cry.

essence of my 17th birthday is the least I will not forget. My birthday is the 17th is also the last birthday with my mother. I thought my birthday will not be fun anymore if not with my mother. if I knew it was my last birthday with my mother, I would spend my birthday with my mother.

1. Pengertian Reflexive Pronoun

Reflexive pronoun adalah sebuah pronoun(kata ganti) yang menunjukkan bahwa subjek(yang bisa berupa orang, atau hewan)menerima aksi dari verb di dalam sebuah kalimat, bermakna sendirian dengan diawali preposition “by” maupun digunakan sebagai object ketika subject dan objectnya sama. sehingga subjek memiliki bentuk reflexive sendiri di posisi objek. Reflexive Pronoun antara lain adalah: singular(myself, yourself, himself, herself, itself), dan Plural(ourselves, yourselves, themselves).

2. Pembentukan Reflexive Pronouns

Reflexive Pronoun antara lain adalah: singular(myself, yourself, himself, herself, itself), dan Plural(ourselves, yourselves, themselves), atau lebih jelasnya silahkan lihat tabel di bawah ini.

Contoh Kalimat Reflexive Pronoun

Pada tabel di bawah ini adalah beberapa contoh kalimat dengan menggunakan reflexive pronoun.

Buku itu terjatuh dengan sendirinya. Plural Ourselves Yourselves(Plural) Themselves We make ourselves more manly with this clothes. Kitamembuat diri kita lebih gagah dengan pakaian ini. All of you make yourselves work very hard to achieve the goals. Kalian semua membuat diri kalian bekerja sangat keras untuk mencapai tujuan. The children decorate the class by themselves. Anak-anak menghias kelas mereka sendiri.

3. Fungsi Reflexive Pronoun

Berikut adalah beberapa fungsi dari penggunaan Reflexive Pronoun dalam kalimat :

a. Untuk menunjukkan bahwa orang atau binatang melakukan sesuatu pada dirinya sendiri.
Contoh :

• Annisa saw herself in the mirror.
  Annisa melihat dirinya di cermin.
• I hate myself yesterday.
  Aku benci diriku sendiri kemarin.

b. Untuk membuat kata ganti menjadi lebih tegas bisa juga untuk menguatkan arti menjadi lebih kuat dan tajam.
Contoh :

• You yourself made this birthday cake.
  Kamu sendiri yang membuat kue ulang tahun ini.
• They themselves ruin the party.
  Mereka sendiri yang merusak pesta.

c. Untuk menunjukkan pengertian sendiri, biasanya didahulu oleh kata by.
Contoh :

• You should not walk by yourself at night.
  Kamu sebaiknya tidak pergi sendirian dimalam hari.
• He went mountain climbing by himself.
  Dia pergi naik gunung sendiri.

Setelah mengetahui beberapa fungsi dari Reflexive Pronoun ada baiknya juga mengetahui beberapa arti dari Reflexive Pronoun yang lain, diantaranya adalah :
1. Unaided (tanpa bantuan).
Contoh :

• It’s impossible for anyone to move that piano by himself.
  Tidak mungkin siapa pun memindahkan piano itu sendirian.
• I did it by myself.
  Aku melakukannya sendiri.

2. Also (juga).
Contoh :

• We’ll give you a lift to the concert hall. We’re going there ourselves.
  Kami akan menjemputmu ke konser. Kami juga akan ke sana.

 

4. Penggunaan Reflexive Pronoun

Seperti yang dijelaskan di atas bahwa reflexive pronoun berfungsi menunjukkan bahwa subjek(yang bisa berupa orang, atau hewan)menerima aksi dari verb di dalam sebuah kalimat. jadi pertanyaannya kapan seharusnya kita menggunakan Reflexive pronoun?

a. Ketika menjadi direct object

 dimana subject dan object adalah sama. kita bisa menggunakan reflexive pronoun dengan transitive verb, misalnya: amuse, blame, cut, dry, enjoy, help, hurt, introduce, kill, prepare, satisfy, teach, etc. Contoh kalimatnya:

• I teach myself to drive motorcycle. (“myself” menggantikan subjek “I” dan menjadi direct objek verb “teach”).
• He blames himself when he got bad scores. (“himself” adalah reflexive dari subjek ”He” dan menjadi direct objek verb “blame”).

b. Ketika menjadi indirect object

dimana objeknya sama dengan subject of verb. contoh kalimat:

• I have written myself a letter to send tomorrow. (“Myself” adalah reflexive subject “I” dan menjadi indirect object).

c. Ketika menjadi object of preposition

• He makes a life for himself.  (“himself”adalah object of preposition “for”).
• That man is talking to himself. (“himself” adalah object of preposition “to”).

d. Ketika untuk memberikan Penekanan lebih pada hal yang dilakukan oleh subjek

• I will do it myself. No one else will help me. (“myself” adalah reflexive pronoun dari subject I yang berfungsi untuk memberi penekanan lebih terhadap yang dilakukannya).

e. Ketika adanya subject kombinasi

Subject yang berupa proper noun terkadang juga bisa dikombinasikan dengan reflexive pronoun. Contoh:

• I and my brother go to the mall to make ourselves happy. (reflexive pronoun “ourselves” menggantikan subject kombinasi antara “I” dan “my brother”).
