Definition Direct and Indirect Speech

Direct Speech merupakan cara untuk melaporkan apa yang orang telah katakan atau tulis, berupa pernyataan, pertanyaan, atau ucapan lainnya, dengan mengutip persis perkataannya. 

Sebaliknya pada Inderect Speech, perkataan disampaikan dengan mengubah formatnya agar menjadi lebih jelas, alami, dan efisien bagi pendengarnya. 

 Example : 
Direct Speech : "I play basketball every saturday night,” said Tommy.
(Saya main basket setiap sabtu malam.)

Indirect Speech : Tommy said that he played basketball every saturday night.
(Tommy mengatakan bahwa dia bermain basket setiap santu malam.)

Description of my sister

I have a sister, our age difference is not much different just 18 months. She was named Eka Safila Rosa or used to be called safila. She has a height of about 160cm, and 45kg weight. She has tan skin, a sharp nose, She wears a hijab. She is currently undergoing a mathematics course at a university in the Jakarta area called STKIP Kusuma Negara. Dalam bahasa inggris, kita mengenal dengan “SUCH…THAT”. Sebenarnya “such.. that” hampir sama dengan “so..that” , letak perbedaannya dalam penggunaanya “SUCH ..THAT” harus menyebutkan kata benda (noun) sebagai perumpaannya (biasanya “such” diikui oleh “as (seperti)”) tapi sebelumnya Kata “SUCH” secara tata bahasa mmempunyai arti dalam bahasa Indonesia yaitu ‘seperti’ dan kata “That” mempunyai arti kata dalam bahasa Indonesia adalah ‘bahwa’.

Penggunaan Bentuk Such + Adjective + Noun

“Such” dapat dikombinasikan dengan kata sifat dan kata benda untuk menunjukkan sesuatu yang ekstrem. Bentuk ini sering digunakan dalam seruan.

contoh:

• Denis has such a big house! I think it’s a little too much for her.
• She has such beautiful hair! I have never seen that glorious hair before.

Bentuk di atas dapat dikombinasikan dengan “that” untuk menunjukkan sesuatu yang ekstrem yang menyebabkan hasil tertentu. “That” biasanya bersifat opsional.

• Denis has such a big house that I don’t know the way to the bathroom.
• Denis has such a big house I don’t know the way to the bathroom.
• She has such beautiful hair that she got a job as a model.
• She has such beautiful hair she got a job as a model.

CATATAN: Ingat bahwa tanpa kata benda kita perlu menggunakan “begitu.”

Penggunaan Bentuk Such + Judgemental Noun

“Such” juga dapat dikombinasikan dengan kata benda untuk menghakimi dan penekanan. Bentuk ini sering digunakan dalam seruan.

contoh:

• She is such an idiot! She says the stupidest things.
• Ronny is such a genius! We could never do this without him.

Bentuk di atas dapat dikombinasikan dengan “that” menunjukkan hasil tertentu. “That” biasanya bersifat opsional.

contoh:

• She is such an idiot that nobody would hire her.
• She is such an idiot nobody would hire her.
• Ronny is such a genius that he immediately accepted at the famous university.
• Ronny is such a genius he immediately accepted at the famous university.

Penggunaan Bentuk Such + Noun (This type of…)

“Such” juga bisa berarti “this type of…” atau “that type of…”

contoh:

• They had never seen such writing before we discovered the tablet.

this/that type of writing

• He usually doesn’t receive such criticism.

this/that kind of criticism

• Fred has never made such mistakes so far.

How To Make Rainbow Pancakes

 

 Ingredients :
- 400 ml of coconut milk
- 300 grams of wheat flour
- 200 grams of sugar
- 25 grams of butter, melted
- 6 eggs
- 1 tablespoon of instant yeast
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon vanilla
- Purple, green, blue, orange, and red color dye sufficiently

Complementary:
- Sweetened condensed milk
- Cheese chedar

How to make :
1. Combine wheat flour, instant yeast, salt, egg, sugar and vanilla, then mix well.
2. After that leave the dough for 30 minutes until fluffy, then enter the butter, mix well.
3. Divide the dough into 5 parts, giving each of the different dyes in each section, mix well.
4. Pour the pancake dough into a nonstick flat pan, cook until done. Do the same until all the dough colors run out.
5. Arrange pancakes one by one with different colors, spread with sweetened condensed milk and sprinkle with grated cheese.
6. The rainbow pancakes are ready to serve.

My Birthday

My birthday is the 17th anniversary of the most memorable for me, because my friends gave a surprise by way of pranking. a week before I had a birthday they ignored me, scolded me, against me, and others.

and on my birthday they were pranking me, they work together with my teacher for pranking. My teachers call the man who I like to come to my class, my teacher told me that he and I were dating, but we are not dating. My teacher also threatened to tell my parents that I had a boyfriend. they pranking me until I cry.

essence of my 17th birthday is the least I will not forget. My birthday is the 17th is also the last birthday with my mother. I thought my birthday will not be fun anymore if not with my mother. if I knew it was my last birthday with my mother, I would spend my birthday with my mother.
